The Complete Cloud … It’s here … and better than ever!

Although I’m sure you’ve heard about the Cloud, do you know how much it costs and what it can do?

Trust me on this – once you’ve experienced the Cloud, you’ll never want to go back. And here’s the good news… it is priced to fit into anyone’s budget, including unlimited cloud storage, but it’s on a per user basis. So if you have 10 users, you’ll only be billed for 10 users. If you add one more, the bill increases by one user, etc… But what if you need to add a new server? Don’t worry—no charge. Believe me, this is one of those IT investments that is well worth it.

Here are just some of the perks:

  • You’ll never have to deal with another telecom bill
  • It covers all the servers you need in the cloud whether it’s 1 or 20, the price stays the same
  • It includes 24×7 support
  • New sleek device to connect to the cloud
  • Unlimited Cloud Storage (this is HUGE!) your data can grow and grow with no extra fees
  • And there is so much more…

If you’re interested in learning more, please give me a call or shoot me an email. I’d be more than happy to show you a real life demo so you can better understand what our Complete Cloud can do—you’ll get it once you see it live… It’s pretty sweet!

Be sure to contact me, Jeff Wheeler, 972-331-3311, jwheeler@intelinetsystems.com.

Your Website is a reflection of your company, your products and your services, and it needs to be visually appealing, polished and professional. It may be the first and only impression a potential customer receives of your company, and acts as your online business card as well.

By now, 98% of us have a website for our business,
but is yours bringing leads?

An attractive site is far more likely to generate a positive impression and keep visitors on your site once they arrive. The key is to have a clean and effective website, that can deliver your brand and message to prospects within 3 to 6 seconds.

Here are 3 great examples of what a good website looks like:

www.candy.com This is a very clean website that clearly delivers the company’s message—you’re there to purchase candy. Not too much wording, the search bar is clearly visible, coupons, etc. This is a true e-commerce website.

www.familyresidential.com I like this website because we built it :>) and because it’s simple and clean. The design is fresh looking and it’s super easy to navigate. A picture is worth a thousands words, and you see the banner text first thing when you arrive onto the website.

bigeyeagency.com This is a website that is out there…but effective. They have really done it right! And get this – when you do a Google search, they have the whole first page of content. Click here to see.

An unattractive or poorly built site will do more to hurt
your business than to help it.

If you have an existing site, or plan to develop one in the near future, it’s important to understand the characteristics that can make or break the effectiveness of your online investment.

I’ve been designing websites for 10 years now, and have an eye for what works. If you have not updated your website within the last 3 to 4 years—it’s time! Send me your current website and we will send back a new mock design to see what your website could look like.

What does your online business card look like?

As the owner of an IT Services firm, you can image I get a lot of web related questions from our customers. The one most commonly asked is if I know anyone that could design a good looking website. The short answer would be, sure…there are plenty of people out there that could create a good looking site, however, looks aren’t everything…

I personally enjoy web design, and actually I have a lot of experience in the field. It’s not a full-time business because I know what goes into making great websites, and quite frankly, I don’t have the time. But after hearing that so many clients were having a hard time finding a good company (or worse, had lost money from a bad design) I decided to connect with Andrea Ferguson, owner of 320 Designs.

We had a great talk and found out our companies had a lot in common. And just like Intelinet, she is always staying a couple steps ahead of her competitors. Andrea told me that for years she’s been telling both customers and designers they need to go mobile friendly. I’m not sure if you heard, but last April, Google changed a few policies on their search results. Now, no matter what your search results are on the computer, your website will be pushed down for other mobile-friendly websites if the user is on a mobile device (and we all know what people are using the most….) 320 Design’s motto is to deliver abundantly more than you could ever ask for. Andrea explained how having a dedicated team of writers, graphic designers, and website development folks on staff keeps her turnaround time fast and her prices reasonable.

Because we are always looking into the future to meet your needs, Intelinet is partnering up with 320 Designs to provide our clients with a radical new way of website design. Imagine a website conceived with forward thinking—carefully crafted, with every application and design seamlessly woven together, to better enhance your brand!

Questions? Drop me a line – I would love to connect with you soon!

2003 Server Migration in Today’s Times
From the desk of David Craig, Managing Partner

At this point, I have no doubt that you have heard all of the horror stories about what will happen if you don’t upgrade your Windows 2003 Servers. Does anybody really know what could happen if you remain on 2003? The question you should be asking is: Do you really want to take that chance with your business? For most companies still running on 2003, it boils down to three main reasons: budget, time, or lack of concern. At Springfield I.T. Department, we have several upgrade options for moving away from Windows Server 2003 and Small Business Server 2003 that include creative, on-premise solutions, as well as our Smart Cloud solutions.

We have designed a Cloud replacement for 2003 Server(s) for the small business customer. This provides users the ability to log into the Cloud server(s) from anywhere and on any device. We make the transition easy with migration services for your data, email, and applications to our secure Cloud. User productivity increases with the ability to run a Remote Desktop Session on your existing PC with multiple monitors, or log into our web-based client from any device that runs a browser. Both client software programs offer the same Windows Desktop experience that users have come to know so well. Managed Wise Smart Cloud for Small Business removes the headache of local servers and frees you and your environment from all the associated cost.

The Managed Wise Smart Cloud starts with a clean and error-free Active Directory structure, a Remote Desktop Server, an Exchange Server, and an Application Server to effectively run accounting packages or other business applications. And, our Cloud solutions can easily expand as your needs demand!

Are you ready to move to the cloud? Let us drive you there.

For those of you that still have questions about what the cloud is all about, just give us a call and let us demonstrate the solution to you. Let Intelinet assist you in taking that step away from 2003 and into a highly productive cloud environment. Springfield I.T. Department is located in Richardson, Missouri and has been providing IT services and solutions since 1982.

Having a business keeps you busy organizing, brainstorming, evaluating, problem-solving and putting out fires! Most of your ideas and information are stored in your computer memory, and could be subject to damage or loss if something should happen and your data is lost.

Answer these questions to find out where your business ranks in network security:

Q: What is your current backup solution: File-Folder / Image Based
Q: What is the name of the backup solution: _______________________
Q: When was the last time you did a test restore? This Year / Last Year / Never
Q: Was the test restore successful? Yes / No
Q: How long did it take? ______________ Minutes/Hours/Days

Give yourself an honest grade on how well you either know the answers, or what the answers were. Did you get an “A” “B” “C” “D” or did you fail “F”?
Do not feel bad, 95% of you got a true “F”. Here is a video outlining what you should be looking for and how easy it is for Springfield I.T. Department to manage this for you!

We provide a technology that images (takes a photograph of the server) as quick as every 15 minutes. If that server dies, we can bring it back online in minutes, not hours or days! The image includes your data, settings, program files, databases, everything! We can restore the images to dissimilar or base metal hardware. The best way is to be confident that you have the most reliable backup and recovery solution in place BEFORE you need it. This is what we do!

Call or email and ask for an onsite demonstration!

Choosing the best collaboration solution for your organization is a daunting task. Not only do features and cost have to be weighed, but the short and long term effects must be taken into account.

Don’t be fooled by the first quote

Tread slowly when you see a quote with a super low price. Usually it’s a sign that some additional features might have been cut to save on the cost. These hidden costs could rear their ugly heads at a later date.

While it may be tempting to always go with the lower quote price, there’s a smarter way of determining which collaboration solution to implement.

How smart people calculate savings

Typically when making a big technology purchase, a company is looking to maximize what it can get out of it over the life of the purchase. Smart people use total cost of ownership (TCO) to “level” the playing field.

Sure, something cheap might look appealing in the short term because it doesn’t hurt he budget, but what if it breaks in the second year? Or what if in year 3, you need to add new users?

Below is Analysys Mason’s 5-year TCO comparison of 3 competing collaboration solutions for 500 users.

be6k vs avaya vs shoretel

Overall, the Cisco BE 6000 was $21,000 less than Avaya’s Aura for Midsize Enterprise and $40,000 less than the ShoreTel 12.

On average you’re looking at saving $30,000 with the BE 6000.

Click here to get the full report

Competition is good for the market. I’m excited to see  what Avaya’s and ShoreTel’s response is to the BE 6000.

DX80 – Cisco Collaboration Savior?

I was excited to learn about the DX80 and DX70, although I feel the names could’ve been better from a marketing perspective. It just sounds too much like a 486 DX 66. Anybody remember those?

I’m an advocate of the Android operating system so I’m glad Cisco went this route, instead of coming up with another proprietary operating system.

Hopefully the Webex and Jabber integration is polished and doesn’t feel tacked on. Here’s some of the key features:

Key functionality:

  • The intelligent audio feature eliminates background noise.
  • SE Android OS combined with Cisco end-to-end security features gives peace of mind to network administrators.
  • Cisco Extension Mobility supports multiple profiles, allowing hot-desking and shared workspaces.
  • Native Cisco AnyConnect VPN makes connecting to the workplace from the home office quick and easy.

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collaboration-endpoints/dx80/index.html

One of the major problems I still see today when trying to work remotely is conference calls. If you haven’t seen this clip on YouTube yet, it perfectly illustrates the awkwardness.

I don’t know if the DX 80 will solve this problem, but I see it as a step in the right direction.

The key question is the affordability and the user friendliness. Will people and companies embrace this?

Cisco Shifts to Services Model

This isn’t surprising. Hardware and infrastructure is a commodity. Amazon Web Services and its competitors proves it.

IBM went this route when it pivoted away from Lenovo. In order for Cisco to adapt and evolve, they’re going to have to go a similar route.

Software-Defined Networking and Self-Learning Networks

This fits in line with Cisco’s Internet of Things.

Will we see these things implemented in Kansas Smart City?
